WELCOME To REP – CHARTING 21ST CENTURY INNOVATIONS

Institute's Logo

REP (Realizing Education’s Potential) is a non-profit institute dedicated to:

1) Helping educators reach their full potential by offering how to evaluate and choose from all the emerging technologies, suggestions for developing good teacher/student engagement, and providing personal methods that can lessen the stresses of being an educator.

2) Promoting education’s potential to be innovative and a prominent contributor to the amazing transformations occurring within human culture including, but not limited to, a “Holistic View of Human Nature,” “Globalization,” “Sustainable Development,” and “Information Literacy.”

3) Supporting Students to reach their full educational potential by providing skill development in reading, writing, research, and personal life management for life-long learning.

Support for everyone is available musically. The Supportive Music page has an approximately 37 minute playlist of music, as well as individual pieces of music, that you can listen to while working at your desk. Each piece of music increases in tempo and beat to help enliven you as you work.

The REP Institute contributes to these areas by this website, publications, Webinars, workshops, presentations, and teacher-training/faculty-development sessions.

Who Most Can Benefit by REP?

1) Educators of adolescent, community college, and university students. (The institute has a long term goal of extending this age range to primary school levels also)

2) Educators wanting to incorporate a more integrated approach to teaching and globalization into their curriculum

3) Educators who want to address the stresses of their career

4) Students who want to improve their educational and personal skills to successfully complete higher education and be prepared for careers.

How to Get the Most Out of REP:

If you are an educator, you can start by choosing which of the three areas you want to get into first; as well as the emerging technologies and how to evaluate these for your use.  There are several areas of technologies that you can explore and evaluate for your own use.  You can investigate what globalization is and how you can incorporate this curriculum piece without putting major work on yourself.  You can supplant teacher/student engagement process with by viewing the suggestions and tips in working with students.  You may want to start with finding methods that can release some of the stress of your job so that you can have energy to view the other topics.

If you are a student, decide what area you need immediate help with: reading, writing, critical thinking, research, study skills, or personal life management (for now, math and science are incorporated in these above areas).  Then, progressively work your way through each area because each of the topics covered will be very helpful for what you face as a student.
